Instead of bagging & hauling all those fallen leaves to your curbside, turn it into compost - the natural fertalizer that gardeners call "Black Gold".

Simply rake up the leaves and shred them. No shredder? Not a problem. Just run your lawnmower over them and it will do the job very well. Select an out of the way place where you can stack the shredded leaves in a pile about 3 feet square. Wet the pile with your garden hose if dry, and cover with a plastic tarp.

By this time next year, your pile will turn into a healthy pile of sweet smelling crumbly compost full of nutrients for your plants. And it's free!
